Last fall, I wrote about a wedding photography competition called Wedcomp … in addition to showcasing some of the best wedding photography in the world, the proceeds are being donated to a very worthy cause.
I just found out that two images from Heather’s wedding (that I shot with my friend and colleague, Ralph Heinze) and Karolina and Dawid’s wedding in London placed 7th and 11th respectively in Wedcomp’s latest competition. Needless to say, I was thrilled to hear the news.
You can read more about at Wedcomp’s website.
So Karolina, Dawid and Heather… congratulations!

Anne and I were in Las Vegas last week to attend Wedding & Portrait Photography International’s annual convention and print competition. It is by far the largest (and most prestigious) in the industry.
We just found out some great news… one of our images from Jane and Peter’s wedding last year won an award. Needless to say that we are thrilled for Jane and Peter.
A little history on the winning image: At the Miller Lash House (where they got married), we finished the family portraits and headed over to the clay tennis courts on the property for some quiet time. What I did not know before their wedding day was that Peter used to be a professional tennis player, so the tennis courts were near and dear to his heart. Mother nature had a lot of rain for us on the day – and fortunately, we had a small break in the weather. Thus, everything came together to create the winning image you see above.
So… congratulations Jane and Peter! You can read the WPPI press release here.

As there are many wedding photographers who visit this site, I’ve decided to post about a great competition called “WedComp” and I encourage you to enter it. The judges are very well respected names in the photography world, namely Jennifer Bebb, Zack Arias, Cliff Mautner, and Rachel LaCour Niesen.
Not only do you get the chance to win some fantastic prizes, you will also support (financially) a great cause in the process, namely Thirst Relief.
So don’t wait, get your entries in! Click here to find out more about the competition.
