Travel and Wedding Photography From All Over The World

Sally Armstrong

Friday May 2, 2008 (11:37) | Charity

I recently had the honour of photographing Sally Armstrong, who is an Amnesty International award winner, a member of the Order of Canada, documentary filmmaker, teacher, author, human rights activist and contributing editor at Maclean’s magazine. And believe it or not, she used to be a gym teacher right here in Stratford!

Sally was the guest speaker at Breaking Bread For Women where she spoke of the plight of the people of Afghanistan, most notably the girls and women. She has spent much time in this war torn country and had many stories to tell us – some that were heart warming – and some that were just plain horrific. Through the efforts of Sally and all of the many volunteers, over $4,000.00 was raised for the education of women and girls in Afghanistan.

Thank you Sally for coming back to Stratford and sharing your experiences, insight and compassion with us. We hope to see you again soon!

    Roel,

Your camera speaks from the heart. Thank you so much for coming to the dinner and recording Sally’s compassion, drive and warmth. We need people like you to record those speaking the unpopular and the invisible.

    cheers,
    Sheila Clarke
