Stephen Lewis – Earth Day

It was my honour and privilege recently to have been asked to be the official event photographer for Stratford’s Earth Day celebrations. The day’s events were sponsored by CARE Stratford and hosted by the Stratford Rotary Complex.
The guest speaker was none other than the eloquent Stephen Lewis. He is the founder the Stephen Lewis Foundation and the former United Nation’s special envoy to Africa. There were hundreds of people who came out for the celebrations and to hear Mr. Lewis speak.
He is a fascinating and endearing speaker – everyone who has the opportunity to hear him needs to do so. His book, “Race Against Time” helped inspire me to write my book, “Africa: Beginning A Journey” that I published last year.
Special thanks to Kerry McManus (the last image – she is the event organizer) for putting on such a great show – and for her dedication in making our community and planet a better place to live.
Mr. Lewis suggested that Kerry would be a great candidate for public office. Well, if she runs, she’ll have my vote!
See you next year for more Earth Day celebrations!
